PLAYERS PICKLEBALL ROGUE2 PADDLE REVIEW

By Jack Bandel
Look / Cosmetics : 4.5 / 5 Very splashy design and colorful graphics will get this paddle noticed immediately . Six colors to choose from , including a unique “ wood grain ” and “ rainbow ” pattern . You ’ ll also notice the innovative extra material in the throat area to reinforce the point on the paddle where breakage can sometimes occur . Modern “ hybrid ” shape giving you 16-3 / 8 ” length and 7-1 / 2 ” width , which seems to be a popular shape with high-level players . Winn “ DryTac ” grip feels nice and cushioned in your hand and the slightly longer handle ( 5 ”) gives you enough room for two-handed shots .
Serves / Returns / Groundstrokes : 4 / 5 “ Smooth ” is the first thing that comes to mind when striking the ball with this paddle . The fiberglass surface gives you some nice pop , to make groundstrokes and serves easy to keep deep .
The gel-infused poly core really feels great on groundstrokes and returns , while giving you some control over distance .
Touch / Feel : 4 / 5 While not necessarily a “ touch ” specialized paddle , this composite paddle gives surprising good feel and the control needed for a delicate kitchen game . The feel of the paddle is soft , and the vibration-dampening technology really keeps your arm feeling fresh for hours . For a “ non- graphite ” paddle , you really don ’ t give up too much in the feel department . Impressive !
Sound / Sweet Spot : 5 / 5 This is where this paddle really shines . The sweet spot just feels huge and you really have to try hard to mishit the ball . The sweet spot feels like it ’ s from the middle of the paddle almost all the way to the handle . Only dead spots were way out toward the tip . The sound is very pleasant and seems quieter than most other paddles around me .
Summary : 4.5 / 5 Players Pickleball ’ s Rogue2 is definitely one of my recent favorites . Everything about it just feels right — the shape , the feel , the sound , and how easy it is to play with . This paddle should be on everyone ’ s “ must try ” list , and once you do , you ’ ll see why . It ’ s priced fairly and there is also a 30-day return policy . Check it out and let me know what you think !
