Paddletek CEO Curtis Smith says , “ COVID has turbo-charged this already fast-growing sport . The shutdown caused many people , yet to try pickleball , to pick up the sport because it ’ s relatively safe to play , can be played in a driveway , and is fun for the entire family .” He adds , “ I believe the supercharged increase in demand for paddles and equipment will continue throughout 2021 and move pickleball to mass market .”
Manufacturers are continually looking for ways to improve products . Increased demand of play is fueling the need for enhanced weaponry — paddles are becoming more durable and also offer better feel in addition to more power . The winner is the consumer .
