BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT A Video Course To Help You Achieve Your Best Pickleball Life S tacie Townsend was introduced to pickleball by her parents about two years ago and has never looked back. A 20-year veteran of softball, who played for Great Britain, the professional athlete was taken in by the physical aspects of pickleball as well as the mental demands. And, like anyone focused on personal betterment in athletics, Townsend sought out a coach and found one in Steve Kennedy. Together, they improved her game—and then she had an idea. Why not make what she’s learning from Kennedy available to everyone? So that’s exactly what she did. Townsend says. “He’s a great coach and my game has improved tremendously, despite having no background in racquet sports. Coach Steve is the real deal. Making his teachings available to everyone is invaluable because people fall in love with the sport and they don’t know how to find a good coach and really improve. This is why we teamed up with Coach Steve—to make the best pickleball lessons and knowledge accessible.” Townsend’s “My Pro Pickleball Coach with Coach Steve Kennedy: Everything You Need to Know to Play Your Best Pickleball and to Play Winning Pickleball” is a video course comprised of 144 lessons with more than 7 hours of instruction from Kennedy. “The video lessons cover the various pickleball strokes, strategies, fundamentals and drills, which are broken down into 3- to 6-minute segments so you really understand each lesson,” Townsend says. “For example, there are about 10 different videos on drop shots—each one focusing on a specific drop shot skill or strategy. The video lessons are short, organized, and designed to encompass a lesson you can work on for the day to improve your pickleball game.” Pickler’s self-guided tutorial also comes with a 394-page e-book (with photos) that tracks the video lessons and gives players another way to absorb the material.
