ON THE FARM
Ann and Tom Earley were so passionate about the
game, they turned part of their Georgia horse farm
into pickleball courts.
For the past 15 years, pickleball has
been part of Ann and Tom Earley’s
lives. Their love for the game began,
like many players, at retirement.
“We retired and went to Arizona
and stayed at the Palm Creek Resort,”
says Ann, a retired pianist and
harp accordionist—Tom is a retired
orthopedic surgeon for small animals.
“We were tennis players at the
time. The resort had 16 courts, and
we heard people laughing at the other
end of the court. Tennis isn’t a fun
game; people don’t normally laugh, so
we went down to see what they we re
