My wife, Shonda, and I are avid
pickleball players—we met at a
pickleball tournament, so we thought
it fitting to include pickleball on our
wedding day.
Our first hurdle to overcome was
finding a venue. Luckily, we had a
connection that got us into a beautiful
resort with 10 tennis courts. Before
the wedding, we had a pickleball party
with more than 50 players, and we
tried to keep as many of our guests on
the court at once as possible. We used
three tennis courts and taped off 12
pickleball courts. We were fortunate
enough to know someone who got us
12 portable nets.
