With the influx of paddles hitting the market , USA Pickleball ’ s testing process continues to evolve . The organization ’ s Equipment Evaluation Committee ( EEC ) works directly with National Technical Systems ( NTS ), which handles testing , to ensure that all USAP-approved equipment meets rigid standards .

Carl Schmits , USA Pickleball managing director of equipment standards and facility development , says , “ The primary nature of the sport is still of finesse . The two key attributes we ’ re trying to bound ( i . e . limit ) are power and spin .
