At the Dallas Next Gen event , Australian Chad Edwards , who is one of the APP Tour television commentators and a principal figure throughout pickleball , will be the guest speaker and participate in all off- and on-court seminars . This will be a particularly exciting event for Herrmann since the 2024 Next Gen National Team will also be announced during the tournament .
The vision for the APP U . S . Indoor Championships was inspired by the English Open that took place earlier this year . Pickleball United will be partnering with the APP to place 24 True Courts inside the Donald E . Stephens Convention Center , which will give pickleball players a unique opportunity to travel to Chicago to be closer to the city while playing in a premier tournament to close out the APP season .
Herrmann and his team will continue to work diligently in 2024 to keep their momentum going — a challenge the APP is welcoming . A bigger prize purse is one of the more intriguing items already on the list for the new year .
“ I ’ m excited that we ’ re going to substantially increase prize money on our pro stops next year ,” says Herrmann . “ We ’ ve been able to achieve this by being smart about how we run our business — thinking long term , not just what ’ s ahead . We will also continue to drive our international tour , looking to expand to several countries in 2024 . Additionally , we will be launching initiatives that bring grassroots players into the APP world , and inspiring more to put a paddle in their hand .”
This has been a big year for the APP but keep your eyes on pickleball ’ s leading entity , as 2024 looks to be even bigger and better ! •
