In the Men’s Open Doubles final, Daniel Moore and Matt
Wright worked their way through the consolation bracket to
defeat Kyle Yates and Wes Gabrielsen, who hadn’t dropped
a set in the main draw, in straight sets. Since they came
through the consolation bracket and won the final, they
were required to play an additional game to 15 to decide
the championship. In the end, Moore and Wright picked
up where they left off and won the USAPA Nationals Men’s
Doubles Title.
On the women’s side, Corrine Carr and Simone Jardim
cruised into their Open doubles final, dropping only 21
points in their first four rounds. The finals turned into a
rematch from 2016 against Irina Tereschenko and Lucy
Kovalova. Going the distance, Carr and Jardim claimed their
third consecutive title by winning 11-9, 9-11, 11-9.
