USAPA Unveils University Curriculum (Sort of) at Club Med in January T hose who play pickleball and have a passion for the sport are always looking for ways to improve their experience on and off the 20' x 44' court. Now, the USAPA has developed a program that will embrace every aspect of this ever-popular sport – USAPA University. As a prelude to the actual USAPA University setting, an event will be held on January 25-28 at Club Med – Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie, Florida, right before the USAPA Ambassador Retreat. This three-day/night pickleball extravaganza will be available for 50 people and will feature up to eight hours of world-class instruction from pickleball professionals, round robin tournament for University attendees, a professional exhibition match, local media event, Club Med activities and breakfast, lunch and dinner for your entire stay at the magnificent oceanfront property. With six pickleball courts, this marvelous introductory offer will come complete with a full array of on-court and off-court amenities. Eventually, USAPA University may be held at various locations throughout the country on a quarterly, bi-annual or annual basis and will feature instruction from some of the country’s finest players that will further elevate interest in pickleball, attracting new players to the game. This USAPA facility will also feature the sport’s rules and regulations to player ratings, equipment updates and T he USA Pickleball Association and the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association are proud to announce the creation of the Pickleball Hall of Fame. The Pickleball Hall of Fame will recognize individuals who have achieved exceptional results in pickleball play over the course of their career, as well as those who have made exceptional contributions to the growth, development, and leadership of the game. The Foundation will incorporate the Pickleball Hall of Fame as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation, establish the structure 14 referee certification to off-court activities like training regimens and nutrition, a comprehensive program will be developed and implemented for every member of the University. The USAPA University will offer members every resource available to instill a greater passion and appreciation of the sport of pickleball.
