haven for families, nature lovers and romantics. It offers the slow pace of island life with just enough unique amenities, from dining and shopping to bike paths carved under the whistling palms, to make it an unparalleled destination.
On May 3, 2017, Sundial Resort & Spa held its ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of 12 new pickleball courts. The venue was electric that day. People came in from the mainland and all over the island.

directly across the street. After crossing the street, there is a wide walkway that goes parallel with the street, where walkers, joggers and bikers are commonly passing by( often stopping to look at what is happening on the courts!). The courts are divided in half by a large open space that accommodates bleacher stands for excellent viewing of the four adjacent courts. To the north of the courts is a small lake, but it is inaccessible from the court area. The entire court space is enclosed in fencing, with the north fence dressed with wind screens. The south-facing fence has trees and vegetation. In the middle of the south fence is a large gate that opens up onto the mid-area.
With the mid-area prepared for the ribbon cutting, there were two large cabanas set up, a table for drinks, and four bleachers that were moved to allow for the extra foot traffic. After some time to mingle, there was an exhibition match and the official cutting of the ribbon. Afterward, people were invited to enjoy open play.
The day of the opening, Sundial also hosted LevelUP Pickleball Camps, sponsored by Pickleball Magazine and directed by Rob Davidson. The three-day clinics were a big hit! Not only did participants receive world-class pickleball instruction, they also enjoyed delicious meals at the resort, lots of point play and a chance to make new friends from across the country. Overall, the facility boasts excellent courts at an excellent location. Combined with the amenities of the resort and spa, it is an ideal location to play recreationally with family or friends, host leagues, hold clinics, run mixers, round-robins and tournaments. It will be an exciting thing to see how the pickleball program at Sundial Resort develops. •
