IPTPA Celebrates
First
Anniversary
in Style
BY SEYMOUR RIFKIND
O
ur 1st World Congress is coming up. Our dinner and
cruise will be Friday, as advertised, directly after
our workshop to accommodate all of the participants
who signed up. For those of you having a significant
other joining you in Naples, they are more than welcome
to accompany you for the dinner/cruise Friday evening
($65 each). You should sign them up as soon as possible
as space is limited. Also, if you have a friend who is
playing in the Open and would like to join us for the
cruise-only portion (he/she cannot attend the dinner
portion) the price is $45.
This is a great opportunity to get to know each other
and to celebrate the IPTPA’s one-year anniversary. Please
spread the word to fellow players attending the Open but
are not IPTPA members that our Meet & Greet is one of
several pre-US Open activities planned for players.
Our workshop begins at 8:00 a.m. sharp in the
recreation center on the grounds of the East Naples
Community Park, site of the US Open Pickleball
Championships. Lunch will be brought in, and after
a short break we will work through lunch to take
advantage of our time together. You will also order your
dinner from the pre-arranged menu provided as we want
to reduce the wait time for our food to arrive once at the
restaurant. Court demonstrations and closing comments
will conclude at 4:30 p.m., at which point you will have
30 minutes to “clean up.”
We will then board a bus to take our entire group to
Pinchers restaurant. We’ve hired a bus to pick us up from
East Naples Community Park and return us to the park
after our cruise. We’ll arrive at the restaurant between
5:15 and 5:30, conclude our meal between 6:30 and 6:45,
and simply walk out on the dock to board our ship. The
ship departs at 7 p.m. and returns at 8:30 p.m. where our
bus will be waiting to take us back to the park.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to
reach out. Looking forward to a great day of activities,
learning, bonding, and celebrating. •
