Ask the USAPA
“Ask the USAPA” is a collection of pickleball questions of general interest. Send your questions
to [email protected] and we will feature three or four of your questions in each magazine edition.
Q. With the new rating system coming
out, is it necessary for tournament
directors to send in tournament
results to the USAPA?
A. Yes & No. Only sanctioned tournament
results will count for the new rating system,
as is the case now for the current rating
system.
Q. I would like to participate in the new
USAPA Juniors program. What do I do?
A. Send your memo of interest to
[email protected] and we will be in touch.
Q. When will the new USAPA rating system be ready?
A. USAPA is currently reviewing vendor RFPs (Request For Proposals) re: a proposed
new tournament rating system. There is considerable work to be done. Therefore,
we can not provide an estimate as to when a new system would be implemented.
Q. What makes an underhand serve legal?
A. 4.A. Serve Motion. The serve must be made with an underhand stroke so that
