How time flies — summer is
here and pickleball is going
strong in all parts of the U.S. as
well as internationally. It is so
exciting to see how this sport
has grown over the last 10 or so
years and its continued growth
is phenomenal. We owe this
success to the idea of sharing
that our early pickleball pioneers,
who we call ambassadors, had in
mind when they led the charge in
presenting this wonderful sport
to anyone who would listen. Early
on, the USAPA Board realized that
many areas needed seed money
to help in their implementation of

the sport. The board developed a
grant program to serve this mission. In those early years we started with
only small grants, but as time went on the grant program grew and this
year the board has allocated over $40,000 to help in the continuation
of program development for new local start-up sites as well as school
programs. Although the USAPA Board makeup has changed over the
years, those same early principles still exist tod
