MAINSTREAMING CLIMATE ACTION INTO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Climate change impacts all areas of our economies and societies . The measures we take to address it can drive sustainable development .
NDCs become powerful instruments for change when they are embedded in the core decision-making processes within countries — national strategies , sectoral plans , budgets , and other frameworks where national priorities are set . This process is known as “ mainstreaming ” and is at the heart of the Partnership ’ s work . Mainstreaming has taken on new dimensions as COVID-19 economic recovery , health , and inclusive growth top political agendas . The Partnership supports countries in each of these areas , and as they make climate and sustainable development action more inclusive by supporting gender equality and youth engagement .
