Energey system
There are three energy systems the: Kreps cycle, lactic acid system, and the phosphocreatine, they are all good for different reasons and differs altheas use different systems more.
For example a sprinter would use the phosphocreatine system a lot more than a long distance runner.
All these systems create Atp, which is one of the main sources of energy when Brocken down.
adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and phosphocreatine (PC)
adenosine diphosphate (ADP)
Glycogen which is already in the body gets Brocken down and converted to glucose. Glucose is then broken down by a bunch of enzymes, 10 reactions .
When breaking down glucose to synthesize ATP this creates a substance called pyruvate acid, this is used in the Krebs cycle to create more energy if the body has oxygen . The muscles becomes acidic as hydrogen ions are created.
This system is anaerobic because there isn’t enough oxygen in the body to break down pyruvate and create anymore ATP. This system creates 2 atp. Used 400m.
The Krebs cycle is a series of reactions and results in ATP (enegy). The pyruvic acid molecules from the lactic acid system go through oxidation this crates acetyl coenzyme AC this is where the Krebs cycle starts.
Three events occur during the Krebs cycle. A single guanosine triphosphate is produced which then forms one ATP after a reaction, NAD and FAD are also created these will then generates large amounts ATP. When they go through the electronic transport chain.
This system create a lot of hadron ions, which turns the body more acidic causing pain. The electronic transport chain gets rid of them and creates 34 atp.
