Respiratory System

What is the function of the respiratory system?

The respiratory system has the responsiblety for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide from the body. It does this through breathing, inhalation and exhalation.The gases exchange between aviloil and the blood.

For normal inhalation, the diaphragm the external intercostal muscles contract and the ribcage elevates and for exhalatiom they relax.
