" You’ re only as good as your nurses” was a saying I often heard but failed to truly appreciate early in my medical training. From my first clinical rotations, the nurses at Renown were frequently the first to recognize subtle changes in a patient’ s condition, ensured that treatment plans were carried out accurately and efficiently and advocated strongly for their patients. As a student, I relied on nurses to learn how medicine is delivered beyond the textbooks and lectures. This is the Renown standard of nursing care.
As I progressed in my medical education and completed clinical rotations at other institutions, I learned that the Renown standard is not universal. These experiences highlighted just how exceptional the nursing culture at Renown truly is and how profoundly it improves patient care. Seeing this contrast deepened my understanding that empowered, well-supported nurses are essential to high-quality medicine. The Renown standard set my expectations for teamwork, accountability and patientcentered care, and it is the benchmark I now proudly carry forward in my medical training.

He never seemed rushed, listened carefully and explained my sonogram results well. He showed me from a model heart, how a stent is placed in a valve and explained in lay terms answers to my questions. I would definitely recommend him.
