each one feels seen and heard . She also helps the employees here too . She always checks in with us to make sure we are doing okay , taking breaks and eating . I wanted to take the time and let Dr . Abraham know how amazing she is and appreciate all the amazing work she does for the clinic .”
ANN BARNET , MD : “ On behalf of CNU , we just wanted to thank you for all that you do for our patients and team . You were phenomenal at tackling multiple difficult patient situations during your week with us , yet you did it with ease . You communicated effectively and proactively with all the specialists involved in our complex oncology patients ' care which in turn , ensured that the patients were receiving the right care in the right setting and all those involved in the plan of care were on the same page . We have struggled with that on the CNU and you knocked it out of the park ! We know the oncology patient population isn ' t for the faint of heart . My team and myself couldn ' t appreciate you more as we saw how much you cared to do the right thing , every time .”
KATIE CALLAHAN , NP : “ Here in Patient Experience , a patient wanted to recognize Katie , who personally called in for the patient to make sure they were seen in the ER that same day for their CT scan . The patient says that Katie also followed up with them after to let them know they had ordered medication and then thoroughly explained the plan of care in words they can understand . The patient is grateful for all the help they have received from Katie . Amazing job !”
JULIA CHRISTOPHER , DO : “ Dr . Christopher has been instrumental in transitioning our adolescents and young adults with chronic respiratory conditions into the adult world . She went above and beyond with one of our special young patients who has been a quadriplegic since age 6 and has multiple very complex and painful medical issues . He is nearing end-of-life . Dr . Christopher understood that he needed extensive airway management but recognized the need to try to keep him out of the inpatient environment . She spent over two hours in the ED managing his airway and doing a therapeutic bronchoscopy , then a couple of days later came over to the pediatric subspecialty clinic to follow up with the patient and began multidisciplinary efforts to find palliative care versus hospice options for this young adult .”
AMANDA CRAWFORD , MD : “ Dr . Crawford is an absolute pleasure to work with . Her willingness to work with both the staff and leadership team on Sierra 5 to ensure that our patients are receiving quality care in a timely manner truly demonstrates your willingness to go above and beyond in your role . Dr . Crawford plays an active role during IDR each day . She actively listens and incorporates input from nursing staff , leadership and case management when developing a safe discharge plan for the patient . Dr . Crawford always comes to rounds prepared to share the patient ' s plan of care , provides specific timelines for follow-up , and goes out of her way to ensure that she does in fact follow-up with nursing leadership and case management with updates . Dr . Crawford is an incredible asset to our organization , and we absolutely love having her on Sierra 5 .”
DAVID DE LOS SANTOS , MD : “ I want to let Dr . De Los Santos know how much I appreciate his willingness to teach the nursing students about procedures , and how grateful I am that he will teach the nursing students . The students got to watch a bronchoscopy and intubation on a couple of patients on Sunday in CIC , and Dr . De talked them through what they were seeing on the screens of both the bronch and the Glide Scope . This makes a huge impact on the nursing students to be included by a physician in this teaching moment and I just can ' t thank him enough for the kindness and inclusivity that Dr . De shows towards the nursing students .”
