DEAR RENOWN MEDICAL STAFF COLLEAGUES ,

As co-chiefs of staff , Scott Parkhill and I want to extend greetings and salutations to the entire medical staff and Renown Health community . It has been our pleasure serving our roles in medical leadership . For those of you that I have not had the opportunity to meet , my name is Tim Halterman . I have been practicing as a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Consultants since I graduated fellowship at the University of Washington in 2011 .
Originally from Ohio , I , along with my wife and two children , now call Reno home . Along with enjoying all the outdoor amenities Reno and its surroundings have to offer , I have embraced the opportunity to practice in a tight knit community as well as the ability to serve in medical leadership for the past eight years . Serving in medical leadership has allowed me to gain insight into additional aspects of medical care which I have found has made me a more well-rounded medical provider . I encourage those in the medical staff to consider involvement in medical leadership not only to broaden your own horizons but also to improve and affect change in the medical community overall .
Scott and I would also like to thank the Renown Medical Staff for agreeing to pursue the ability to combine the medical staffs of Renown Regional and Renown South Medical Centers . We feel that this transition affords the medical staff additional opportunities and efficiencies that will ultimately strengthen the role of the medical staff in the care of our community throughout the Renown Health System . We have been actively engaged in this transition thus far and are excited about the work that still needs to be completed in the future .
