Every photographer looks for challenge in a shoot. Looking to find a style, a look, a concept that you can get involved with and create something special. Then I came across Billie.

Billie hadn’t long moved to Brisbane from Newcastle NSW. This gave us something in common straight away as I am originally from Woy Woy a small coastal town on the NSW Central Coast, south of Newcastle. When I spoke with Billie Erin about collaborating on a shoot, she had a concept in mind that she wanted to explore.

The idea involved bright bold make up. We then set about finding someone with the vision to enable us to pull off the concept and that’s where we brought Mhairi’s talent into the collaboration.

Billie’s vision was to create a half water themed shoot highlighting a sort of mythical creature. She wanted to have water, mud and make up involved. As we discussed what Billie perceived we grew more excited with what we could do and wanted to achieve.

The location for the shoot was the Nudgee Waterhole in Brisbane Queensland. In hindsight, the makeup was possibly the easy part to lock down with the wardrobe being a bit more difficult to decide what would be worn.

Once that was sorted we decided to try a few different looks leading up to the final part of the shoot being the Water Nymph. In total we had 2 makeup sittings, 4 wardrobe changes and roughly 5 hours shoot time all up. Here you see some of the shots. For more please find us on Facebook.
