Palatals. Sounds produced with the tongue and the palate are called palatals (or alveopalatals). Voiceless palatal sounds are (ʧ) ( ʃ)  also the voiced palatal sounds are (ʤ) (Ʒ) Velars. Sounds produced with the back of the tongue against the velum are called velars. the voiceless velar sound is (k) and the voiced velar sounds are (g), (ɳ).
