Duterte thanksgiving party
on May 29 in Vancouver to
help Fort McMurray
Supporters of Philippine
president-elect Rodrigo Duterte
are holding a thanksgiving event
in Vancouver on May 29.
Organized by the Pilipino
Patriots of Canada, the event isn’t
all about fun, food, and festivity.
The celebration is also meant
to raise funds for victims of the
devastating fire in Fort McMurray
in Alberta.
The event will be a dinner
and dance party at Hippo’s Bar
and Grill (725 Southeast Marine
Drive).
The celebration will start at 5
p.m. and close at 9 p.m. Dinner
will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Funds raised will support
efforts of the Canadian Red
Cross.

Rene Bahena of the Pilipino
Patriots of Canada said that the
people trust Duterte to follow
through with his pledge to fight
crime and corruption.
Bob Ocio, a former councillor
in Cagayan de Oro City, said that
the peace and order problem in
the Philippines affects not only
the poor but the middle class as
well.
In addition to the promise
to solve criminality, Ocio said
that Duterte’s campaign pledge
to institute a federal form of
government is also important.

Anne Curtis remains a
Kapamilya after signing an
exclusive 2-year contract with
ABS-CBN on May 5. Curtis’
projects include a new TV series
and two more hosting jobs for the
noontime show “It’s Showtime”
and for the second season of the
reality music show “I Love OPM.”
When asked how she feels as a
Kapamilya, Anne replied, “It’s just
great, ABS-CBN is my home and
I’m very, very happy.” Present
