Parenthood excites Korina
Sanchez no end. She and
husband, senatorial aspirant Mar
Roxas, cannot believe they are
now parents of adorable twins,
Pepe and Pilar.
Korina has been posting
photos of the babies, and also of
her and her husband fussing over
their kids, on her social media
account.
Friends and family are so
happy for the couple and are
fawning over the twin blessings.
More will be revealed about the
Roxases’ bundles of joy this
Sunday in Korina’s show, “Rated
K.”
Roxas has a grown-up son
from a previous relationship. ●

Ryza faces
challenges
in career
It’s an aggressive and strong
Ryza Cenon that audiences see
in “The General’s Daughter,” a
far cry from her meek and mild
Paolo Contis gave one of the
best lead performances by an
actor last year in “Through Night
and Day,” a touching film about
ill-fated lovers. He’s known for
doing comedy in “Bubble Gang”
but he showed he can also tackle
dramatic roles competently and,
although the film didn’t make
waves at the tills, we wish award-
giving bodies would nominate
him at the very least.
Now, he also tries doing drama
in a soap once again in “Hiram na
Anak.” “Balik contravida ako rito,”
he says. “I play Benjo, a seaman
na mahilig sa chicks. Nabuntis ko
si Empress Schuck pero ayokong
panagutan. Gusto ko, makisama
na lang siya sa’kin, pero may
kinakasama na rin ako sa bahay,
si Lauren Young, so pagsasabayin
ko sila.” ●

character in her previous show,
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
“Sa ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’
kasi, I play the president’s
daughter kaya I’m prim and
proper,” she explained, “In ‘The
General’s Daughter,’ I’m a military
officer, like Angel (Locsin).
“But my character feels like
my boyfriend (JC de Vera) was
stolen from me, because he falls
in love with Angel,” she further
said, “I have no idea yet how far
my character will go in exacting
revenge for being dumped by the
man she loves.”
The role is challenging, added
Ryza, because she is not the type
to run after a man who no longer
loves her.
In real life, the actress and
“The Generals’ Daughter” co-star,
Speaking of hits, Liza
Soberano and Enrique Gil’s movie,
“Alone/Together,” has earned
P350 million and still counting.
The real-life sweethearts are
currently in the Middle East for
the movie premiere and to meet
the Overseas Filipino Workers
(OFWs), who have shown love for
Liza and Enrique.
“Nakaka-touch sila,” said Liza
of the OFWs. “They tell us they
miss their families. Sana daw,
kasama nila ang mga ito when
they watched ‘Alone/Together’.”
As soon as she returns, Liza
will start work on a new project.
She cannot talk about it yet, said
the actress, but she promises to
reveal more soon.
Enrique, on the other hand,
plans to rest for a couple of
months. He bought a resort in a
nearby province which he plans to
develop and open to the public.
“Tamang tama nga naman
kasi for this summer,” said
someone close to the actor.
Our source also revealed that
Enrique has a rest house built in
the property for his family and
friends. ●
Cholo Barretto, have just broken
up. They are mum about the
reason for their separation, and
have only shown respect towards
each other.
“They are cordial to each
other,” said an observer, “And we
notice that they are not in a hurry to
enter into another relationship.”
Ryza, aside from acting, is
busy with her restaurant, where
she once held her first painting
exhibit. Yes, the actress is also
into the visual arts. ●
Daniel Padilla has put a
stop to breakup rumors with his
statement that he and girlfriend
of nearly five years, Kathryn
Bernardo, are still a couple.
In fact, the two are super
sweet in a newly-released video
that showed Kathryn’s sweet letter
to Daniel, and Daniel’s thoughtful
gift to his ladylove.
The actor also denied Kathryn
was absent at the premiere
of “Familia Blondina,” which
features his mom, Karla Estrada,
at the Trinoma Mall last Tuesday,
February 26.
“Para nga kaming pamilya,
since we sat inside the movie
house with my siblings, Naldy,
Magui and Carmela,” Daniel said.
Meanwhile, Kathryn and
Daniel have no idea what their
next project it, after the record-
breaking “The Hows of Us,” which
was directed by Cathy Garcia-
Molina. “The Hows of Us” was last
year’s highest-grossing movie,
earning more than P800 million
during its run.
We heard Spring Films is
willing to produce a solo movie
for Kathryn. ●
