Bibeth is the new ToFarm Festival Director
Bibeth Orteza , a seasoned director , writer and actress , is the new festival director of ToFarm Film Festival , with Joey Romero as managing director and Laurice Guillen as consultant . A brainchild of Dr . Milagros How , EVP of Universal Harvester Inc ., it aims to uplift the plight of our farmers by showcasing their aspirations , trials and personal journeys as caretakers of agriculture .
It was held in 2016 and 2017 , producing acclaimed films like “ Paglipay ,” “ Pauwi Na ,” “ High Tide ” and “ What Home Feels Like ,” some of which even got recognized in film festivals abroad . The festival director then was the late director Maryo J . de los Reyes . Now that he ’ s gone , it becomes Bibeth ’ s responsibility to choose the next set of entries , which will now include a short film competition .
Bibeth came to Manila to study in UP then got into theater and became a TV and movie comedian called Bibeth Bisaya with her thick Visayan accent . No one can question her credentials because through the years , she has made many acclaimed films as an actress , like “ Bwakaw ,” “ Babae sa Bintana ,” the original “ Temptation Island ,” “ Nine Mornings .” She even played the president of our country in Robin Padilla ’ s “ 10,000 Hours ” and bagged a best supporting actress award for her role as Sid Lucero ’ s cranky mom in “ Toto .”

Jericho happy for his son
Jericho Rosales expressed his happiness knowing his son knows the value of education . “ Kung gusto niyang maging artista , hanggang tumanda siya pwede , but for us kasi , like ako , hindi ako nabigyan ng pribilehiyo para mag-kolehiyo , di ba ? So gusto ko na nakikita niya ‘ yung value ng education .
“ He ’ s a bright kid and that ’ s what I love about him . And he is a gentleman and ang values niya ay tama , so I am really proud of Santino and alam niyang may opportunity dito , pero marunong siyang magtimbang ng mga bagay so because of that I am really happy ,” he stated .
Jericho is one proud dad as his son Santino is soon to graduate from high school . The actor revealed Santino ’ s plans to pursue a college course .
“ Excited na ako , magka-college na siya . He ’ s graduating [ high school ] this year . Nagsa-soccer pa rin siya , football-soccer . He does modeling so mas ginusto niya ‘ yung path ng mommy niya dati , his mom was an ex-model so ito ‘ yung gusto niyang mundo . But he ’ s okay with commercials but right now - which I ’ m very , very , very happy about and so proud of him - because gusto niyang mag-focus sa studies niya , so para sa akin I know that nandiyan ‘ yung opportunities sa kanya but he chooses to study so I ’ m really proud of him ,” Jericho said in an interview with the media at his contract signing with ABS-CBN .

“ Business , ayoko munang i- announce saan siya mag-aaral , but business ‘ yung karera niya ,” Jericho revealed . ●

Marvin Agustin hurt by teleserye fan ’ s comment
Marvin Agustin reacted to a netizen who criticized the stars of his GMA-7 prime-time series Kambal Karibal .
This Kapuso show is pitted against the ABS-CBN fantaserye Bagani that started airing last March 5 , 2018 .
It started when Marvin retweeted the ratings performance of Kambal Karibal compared to Bagani . It showed that Bagani , starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil , got a lower rating than Kambal Karibal based on Nielsen NUTAM People Ratings data .
Last March 13 , Kambal Karibal got a TV rating of 10.6 % while Bagani got 10.3 %.
A netizen using the Twitter handle @ xzcasdwer replied to Marvin ’ s post by writing :
“ Kambal karibal ??? Anu yan . Ang layo sa BAGANI . Ang budget ng GMA 20K . Ang production ng BAGANI more than 1 million . Nananaginip ka GMA . Hahaha ”
A netizen using the Twitter handle @ realaaronj027 also responded by commenting :
“ Yun na nga .. laki ng budget ng bagani pero eto mukhang laruan yung vfx .. hahaha ”
Netizen @ xzcasdwer again criticized the Kapuso fantasy series by writing :
“ Cnu ba ang artista ng kambal karibal ???? HINDI KO KILALA . Para silang naglalaro sa TV kapag umaarte . Sa BAGANI kaisi LIZA SOBERANO at ENRIQUE GIL lang naman .”
Kambal Karibal is top-billed by the BiGuel love team of Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix .
Marvin , one of the stars of Kambal Karibal , seemed hurt by the comment when he posted on his Twitter account :

Solenn makes fanny packs fashionable again
Fresh from the Palm Beach Art Show in Miami , Florida , Solenn Heussaff continues to flex her artistic muscles with a new fashion collaboration project .
Solenn has teamed up with handcrafted leather goods company Our Tribe to create her own line of leather fanny packs .
The Kapuso artist gives her followers a peek at her design .
On Instagram , Solenn revealed that the collaboration is a “ mini project for the love of education .”
She wrote on her caption , “ After working on my embroidered cowhides for my first exhibit , decided to contact Our Tribe again , and work on a mini project for the love of education .
“ Designed fanny packs for travel and nights out , and for every bag sold we will be giving a school bag and supplies to a child in need .
“ Just a passion project coming to life :)” ●
