Karylle talks about mom Zsa Zsa
Padilla amid ASAP issue
“She’s good,” paniniyak ni
Karylle sa kalagayan ng kanyang
inang si Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Naging usap-usapan ni-
tong mga nakalipas na linggo
ang diumano’y hindi pagkakasali
ng Divine Diva sa ASAP Natin
‘To, ang reformatted Sunday mu-
sical-variety show ng ABS-CBN.
Lalo pang tumibay ang hi-
nalang may sama ng loob ni Zsa
Zsa nang mag-post siya ng quote
na ito sa Instagram:
“I acted like it wasn’t a big
deal, when really it was breaking
my heart.”
Ipinost ito ni Zsa Zsa noong
November 17, isang araw bago
ang launch ng ASAP Natin ‘To.
Noong November 24, nag-
tweet naman si Zsa Zsa tungkol
sa pagmu-move on at pag-alis ng
bitterness.
Aniya, “Hindi ko nga alam
yung present status kasi may mga
kaganapan na hindi pa…
“I can’t say, kasi hindi pa siya
tapos.
“Wait-wait lang siguro tayo
kung ano na ba ang mang-
yayari.”
Pero kinumpirma ng It’s
Showtime host na napag-usapan
nila ng kanyang ina ang tungkol
sa isyu.
“My mom always has me.
“I was listening to the first,
first song I ever wrote.
“It says na parang, ‘We don’t
have a perfect life, but I know you’ll
always be there for me when my
world falls and vice versa.’
“So I was listening to that, I
played it on my Spotify kanina.
Sabi ko, ‘Aba, nagpaparamdam.’
“‘Coz she’s my first love ta-
laga and siya talaga yung naging
first inspiration ko for a song, so I
guess it comes back to that what-
ever happens.”
Dugtong ni Karylle tungkol
sa isyu, “Nothing is final, so I can’t
really say anything right now.
“Wait-wait lang tayo.”
Tiniyak din ng singer-actress
na suportado niya ang ina sa
ganitong sitwasyon, kagaya kung
paano siya suportahan ng ina.
Kuwento pa ni Karylle, nag-
kita sila ni Zsa Zsa noong Martes,
December 4, at hindi naman daw
niya nakikitang may dinaramdam
ang ina.
“Kahapon nga nag-shoot
kami ng video, hindi ko man nai-
sip na may problem or anything.
“Wala naman kasi. She’s
okay.
“She just came from Cebu,
she did, like, a short crash course
on farming.
“But she’s been into that for
the whole of last year, so I can’t
say naman na she’s doing that
now.”
Nito ring November ay nag-
post si Zsa Zsa tungkol sa land
property nila ng boyfriend na si
Conrado Onglao.
Balak daw nila itong gawing
farm.
“It’s something she’s really
been planning and it’s their happy
place…” sabi ni Karylle.
Samantala, sa artikulo ng
PEP Troika, nabanggit na hindi
matatanggal si Zsa Zsa sa ASAP
Natin ‘To.
Mapapabilang pa rin siya rito,
gayundin ang iba pang perform-
ers, sa pamamagitan ng rotation.
Christmas single
Busy ngayon si Karylle sa
pagpu-promote ng duet nila ng
Indonesian singer na si Calvin,
ang “It’s Christmas Time.”
Excited nga raw ang Kapami-
lya singer-host na makipag-col-
laborate sa foreign singer.
“What I love about him, the
whole artistry. He’s very young,
he’s making his own music, clear,
very honest.
“I just love the honesty and
the confidence that he brings
forth.
“It’s very fresh for me, espe-
cially to work with somebody so
young,” sabi ni Karylle tungkol sa
27-year-old Indonesian singer.
Dagdag ni Karylle, “I really
like learning about people also
from other culture.
“There is a lot to learn. There
is so much to learn not just musi-
cally but about them.”
Napabilib naman si Calvin
kay Karylle bilang singer.
Aniya, “I really enjoyed Kar-
ylle’s kind of music.
“But the first time I listened to
‘It’s Christmas Time,’ you can feel
the rawness of Karylle, like, she’s
trying to deliver the message [of
the song].
“I can relate to that kind of
music ‘coz I really like jazz.
“In Indonesia, my songs are
more into pop jazz, so I can re-
ally relate to ‘It’s Christmas Time,’
and I prefer Karylle singing it.”●

James Reid clarifies sports car ‘gift’ for Nadine Lustre
When James Reid made Na-
dine Lustre feel a little extra spe-
cial on her birthday by picking her
up in a sports car, some assumed
that he either owned the expen-
sive ride or that he bought it as
a gift.
In an interview with Cin-
emaNews, posted by Pep on
Monday, the actor clarified it was
neither.
“I have a friend who owed me
a favor and I said if I could borrow
a Ferrari, and he let me use it. So
it was just a surprise. It wasn’t a
gift,” Reid recalled of the much-
talked about car.
According to Lustre, who
was also quoted by Push, she
loves sports cars and that she’s
happy that her boyfriend made
her dream come true when she
turned 25 last October 31.
Both are currently focused
on their respective projects, with
Reid set to star in the upcom-
ing “Pedro Penduko” movie and
Lustre in “Ulan,” the latest from
Irene Villamor (“Sid and Aya: Not
a Love Story”).●
