Many people didn’t know that
Marlo Mortel has a good singing
voice until his first major solo
concert titled “ImMortelized” at
the Music Museum on October
26.
He has a unique singing
voice entirely his own and does
not sound anybody else – local or
foreign.
He said it was a dream to
have his own concert, and his
happiness would have been
doubled if his mom was able to
physically watch him perform.
“I dedicate this concert to my
mom. Sayang, she did not live
long enough to see me fulfill this
dream,” Marlo said.
Among his guests were fellow
ABS-CBN artists Sue Ramirez and
Janella Salvador.
His fans supported him by
packing the venue and cheering
him on the top of their lungs. The
concert also also served as the
launch of his latest album titled
“Serye.”●

Stay true to that burning
passion inside you,” said Christian
Bables to aspiring artists
who, like him, were at some
point “on the verge of giving up”
their craft.
The 25-year-old was declared
best actor at the recent 2018
Hanoi International Film Festival
in Vietnam, for his performance
in Chito S. Roño’s Oscar-bound
drama, “Signal Rock.”
“God has a purpose.
Sometime, somewhere, there will
be someone who will say ‘yes’ to
all of your dreams,” said Christian
in the “thank you” speech he
posted on his Facebook account.
“Just be patient and continue to
work hard.”
Actress
Angeli
Bayani
accepted the trophy on his
behalf.
In
the
film,
Christian
plays Intoy, who lives on an
impoverished fishing island with
his ailing parents. He waits for
his sister (voiced by Judy Ann
Santos), an overseas Filipino
worker, to send him money.
To his director, Christian
said: “No words can express how
[grateful I am to] God for giving
you to me. More than anything,
I thank you for being one of my
second fathers. I will forever
cherish this.”●

K-pop boy band Winner’s
Mino will release his first solo
album in November.
YG Entertainment made the
announcement and uploaded a
teaser photo of his album titled
“XX.”
“Used to express slang or
BLANK, but one can only infer
what it really means, and there is
no answer. Want more freedom,”
the writing on the photo read,
according to YG Life blog.
Last April, Winner released
their second studio album
Gone are the days when
Piolo pressures himself to be with
someone because now, he is just
busy with no one but himself. He
no longer entertains queries about
the last woman he was linked with,
which was Shaina Magdayao.
“A lot has been said already.
Puro he said she said and it’s
better to clear things and kung
kami na lang nag-uusap hindi
yung sa iba namin naririnig kung
anong sinabi namin. Right now
I’m single and very happy being
single,” he said.
The actor is busy with his son
Iñigo Pascual, who he carefully
moulds to be a very responsible
young personality, “I am so proud
of him and how he chooses his
projects but, of course, I am
[always] here to guide him in
life.”
Besides this, Papa P as we all
love to call him, is now open to
talk about politics and even use
his celebrity influence to educate
people about what the real deal is
in our country and what the fans
should actually care about, but
was firm to say that he does not
need to run for a post to do so.
“Yes, lagi ako nililigawan
pero I don’t need that because I
am already heard in my platform
which is to be this celebrity
with a voice. So if I’m going to
influence it would be through my
production house Spring Films,”
he averred.●

“Everyday” containing Mino’s solo
track “Turn Off The Light,” which
he wrote.
In the boy band’s debut
album “2014 S/S” released in
2014, Mino had a solo song titled
“I’m Him.”
Mino joined the TV rap contest
show “Show Me The Money 4” in
2015 where he finished second
in the final round. The following
year, he released his first solo
digital single “Body.”
Benjamin Alves, is slated
for bigger things to come for his
career but he does not want to
get too excited about it.
After blockbusters “Heneral
Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang
Heneral,” he is set to headline the
trilogy finale as former President
Manuel L. Quezon which he
already played in the previous
film.
Although that is already set
in stone as far as the production
is concerned, Benjamin does not
want to keep his hopes up.
“I don’t want to get too excited
because three years namin binuo
itong Goyo, and we want to enjoy
this first, but yes, that is in the
horizon… in time,” he told In The
Know.
The archives of information
and encounters of people with
Manuel Quezon is far richer in
depth compared to the first two
instalments of the hero trilogy. As
early as now, Benjamin is already
doing his homework.
“Inaral ko na talaga. I want
to imbibe his character. Marami
na rin ako nakausap and what is
good is that totoong tao namin
ipapakita si Manuel Quezon. The
good and the bad. The reality of
how he was,” he revealed.
“May vision na si Jerrold
and the TBA production about
Manuel Quezon. I’m excited for
what they have in store but again,
all I can do as an actor is prepare
for reading materials and fight the
good fight via Manuel Quezon,”
Alves added.●
