The participation of Filipino Canadian candidates is an achievement in itself. By actively joining in the electoral life of their respective cities, candidates as well as their supporters and volunteers gain valuable experience. Not only do candidates and their respective organizations learn, but their experiences will also provide lessons for a new generation of candidates. Last October 9, ReyFort Media Group had the privilege of getting most of the candidates together for a first of its kind forum among Filipino Canadian p o l i t i c a l aspirants. We hope that this kind of gathering will lead to more conversations about political participation by members of the community. Also, I and the rest of ReyFort Media Group are eager to see Filipino Canadian politicians initiate activities in between elections so they can actively listen to the many concerns among members of the community. By engaging the community outside election campaign periods, politicians will be able to help in channelling the electoral strength of Filipino Canadians, which has yet to be fully tapped and exercised to its full potential. Mabuhay!● Kathryn shares why she’s excited about Daniel’s concert Kathryn Bernardo insists she won’t be performing with Daniel Padilla in his concert this Octo- ber. After getting emotional at the recent thanksgiving party to cele- brate the blockbuster success of her Star Cinema movie The Hows of Us, Kathryn Bernardo shared how she feels about the early reti- rement plans of their director Ca- thy Garcia-Molina. Siguro kailangan lang niya ngtime after the last three films to recharge and then who knows sana bumalik pa siya pero ibigay natin yung break na kai- langan niya para sa family niya,” she said during the Kathnails SM Southmall branch opening cere- mony held last September 11 in Las Pinas City.  After The Hows of Us, the Kathnails owner and endorser shared she can’t wait to start wor- king with the Megastar, Sharon Cuneta, for the very first time in her next movie project under Star Cinema. Kath also revealed that October 13 is already blocked off  on her schedule so she can be at Daniel Padilla’s major concert at the Ara- neta Coliseum but she clarified that she won’t be going up on sta- ge. The two are set to invade Vancouver on their ‘One Magical Night’ concert on November 3, 2018.● - R. M.
