Circulo Pampagueño
celebrates 33rd Anniversary!
The Circulo Pampangueno
Association of BC, one
of the oldest Filipino
organizations in British
Columbia, celebrated its
33rd anniversary.
The Gala Night was held
last Saturday on October
20, 2018 at the Holiday Inn
Vancouver.
Special guests were
Philippine Consul General
Maria Andrelita S.
Austria and Ms Circulo
Pampangueno Bremiella
De Guzman.
The Gala Night offered a
multi-course dinner and
great entertainment that
featured local singers
and DJs, putting on an
evening filled with lively
music, dancing and good
company.
The celebration also
recognized a new set of
inducted officers: Christian
Cunanan (President),
Francisco Manalo (1st
Vice President), Gary
Manansala (2nd Vice
President), Luz (Lucy)
Bucad (Treasurer), Cerlyn
Pizzaro (Asst. Treasurer),
Alsen David (Secretary),
Gina Pagcu (Asst.
Secretary), Rick De Guzman
(Business Manager), Danilo
Sampang (Asst. Bus.
Manager), Renato Nicolas
(Public Relation Officer),
Arcie Lim (Auditor)and
Amado Mercado (Special
Advisor to The Pres.).
As a non-profit
organization, the Circulo
Pampangueno Association
of BC is committed to
serving the community
and strengthening the
Kapampangan culture
in BC. To this day, it has
raised funds for charitable
projects including relief
goods for typhoon survivors
and scholarships for the
less fortunate children in
the province of Pampangga.
Con Gen Mean S. Austria
in her inspirational speech
said, “Economically
Pampanga has known to
have an excellent food
and excellent furniture,
but Canada has only few
items that are made in
the Philippines.” She then
suggested to everyone
especially the newly
inducted officers; “We can
work on together that a
product from Pampanga we
can identify and introduce
to the Canadian market.”
The newly inducted
president Christian
Cunanan declared the
mission and the vision of
the organization to be the
same, but has expressed
an interest on youth
engagement and promotion
of the Kapampangan
culture among the youth,
shedding light on the
importance of revitalizing
the culture for the
generation to come.
Also in his closing
remarks Christian said
at the top of the list
for next year projects,
Circulo Pampagueno will
plan to have a cultural
event showcasing the
Kapampangan tradition
especially their authentic
cuisines and Specialty
Delicacies for Pampanga
is known as the Culinary
Capital of the Philippines.
