Philippine Showbiz Today September 22 - October 7, 2018 Jan. 22-Feb.7, 2015 Half a billion pesos and counting Star Cinema’s “The Hows of Us,” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla with Cathy Gar- cia-Molina at the helm, is a huge box-office hit. The drama has grossed more than P600 million since it opened in local theaters on September 7.  This was announced by Star Cinema’s promotions head Roxy Liquigan and advertising director Mico del Rosario at the movie’s victory party at the ELJ building on September 12. A thanksgiving mass officiated by Fr. Caluag pre- ceded the celebration.  “Hindi pa kasama diyan ang posibleng maging gross ng ‘The Hows of Us’ sa showing nito abroad,” said Star Cinema’s pub- licity experts. “As it is, marami nang theaters abroad ang nagpa- book, based on the repost of the TFC (The Filipino Channel, ABS- CBN’s online platform). Meanwhile, Olive Lamasan, Star Cinema’s managing director, said:  “Ang higit na nakakatuwa at nakakatabang-puso ay ang maga- gandang reviews at feedback na nilikha ng ‘The Hows of Us.’ Thus, I would like to congratulate and give the film’s creative team, headed by Carmi Raymundo, a pat on the back. “Let’s hope they keep up the good work!” The movie’s stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (DJ) are overwhelmed by the movie’s success. The duo have been paired nine times and “The Hows of Us” seems poised to be their biggest hit. “In our opinion,” said Kath- ryn, “minus the cooperation and hard work of our co-stars, pro- duction staff, crew, plus the utility personnel, the film would not have turned into a complete package. “So, to all of them, our grati- tude. “DJ and I, plus all those in- volved in the making of the ‘The Hows of Us,’ want to express our utmost gratitude to all those who watched the movie… And to those who will still watch it.” ● - E.
