Veteran journalist Jun Veneracion ready for in-depth reporting on GMA ’ s flagship investigative series Reporter ’ s Notebook
Jun Veneracion —“ Jun V .” or “ Vene ” to his colleagues — joined GMA in 2003 and was assigned to cover the Defense and Military beat which brought him to war-torn places throughout the country .
Overseas , his reporting experience includes a month-long coverage in Afghanistan following the abduction of a Filipino UN worker . In May 2017 , he was among the very first group of journalists to reach Marawi City where he extensively covered the armed conflict up to the very end of the Maute takeover .
Jun V . is presently stationed at the Bureau of Customs , where he reports on seized luxury vehicles and other controversial cargo . He once reported on the terminologies used for shady deals within the agency , exposing a ‘ lexicon ’ which includes terms like tara ( bribe money ) and ulo ng aso ( 1000 pesos ).
After fifteen years as one of GMA ’ s most seasoned senior reporters , Jun V . takes on a new challenge as host of multi-awarded Public Affairs program Reporter ’ s Notebook .
Jun V . is no stranger to RN ( Reporter ’ s Notebook ). In July of 2007 , while embedded with the Marines in a search and rescue operation in Basilan , Jun V . and his news team were caught in the middle of armed confrontation . In the midst of the nine-hour firefight between rebels and the military , Veneracion captured the moments when , at the peak of battle , the Marines struggled with mortar shells that failed to fire .
The incident was documented by GMA News ’ seasoned cameramen , highlighting difficulties faced by the military frontliners made even harder by malfunctioning equipment . The story behind this eyeopening news coverage was told through a documentary produced by Reporter ’ s Notebook . Jun V .’ s report on RN went on to win the 2008 New York Festivals Bronze World Medal for Coverage of an On-going Story .
Ten years later , in 2018 , Jun V . officially joins Reporter ’ s Notebook as co-host alongside veteran reporter and multi-awarded host Maki Pulido .
This May , as the nation remembers Marawi one year after the armed takeover , Jun V . returns to the onceembattled city to report on rehabilitation efforts and to revisit the people whose lives were affected by the crisis .

Barbie Forteza returns to primetime with Inday Will Always Love You
Award-winning Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza returns to primetime as she spreads good vibes and kilig via GMA Network ’ s latest offering ‘ Inday Will Always Love You ’ beginning Monday , May 21 .
Produced by GMA News and Public Affairs , the newest romcom series puts the Queen City of the South in the spotlight as it showcases the unique beauty and rich culture of Cebu making it one of the top destinations for international and local tourism . ‘ Inday Will Always Love You ’ will also paint the stories of Cebuanos and of the Filipino family as seen through the eyes of the Manileña girl Happylou Magtibay , played by Barbie .
A bubbly and optimistic girl , Inday Happylou is a lechon store assistant whose life makes a topsy-turvy turn when she makes a career move away from Manila in search for her father in Cebu .
Sharing her excitement over her upcoming primetime series , Barbie says that ‘ Inday Will Always Love You ’ is the perfect project for her after the success of her last series ‘ Meant to Be ’.
“ Wala akong maisip na iba pang comeback na show kasi talagang binigyan ito ng effort . Teasers pa lang , kita n ’ yo na agad yung visuals , yung story relatable talaga . And natutuwa ako kasi kapag nagpo-post ako ng teasers , yung mga Cebuano ang nag-comment kasi andun sila mismo . Sobrang excited sila . Nakakatuwa kasi parang nilibot namin sila sa Cebu ,” she shares .
Joining Barbie in spreading kilig is Kapuso heartthrob Derrick Monasterio who in the series plays Patrick , a rich Cebuano bachelor .‘ Inday Will Always Love You ’ also marks the return to the small screen of the much-loved DerBie love team after their successful team-up in ‘ The Half Sisters ’.
Meanwhile , playing her good friend Ernest is another Kapuso heartthrob Juancho Trivino .
Adding color to Happylou ’ s journey of love and family drama are some of the country ’ s veteran actors led by Ricky Davao , Manilyn Reynes , Nova Villa , and Tina Paner .
