Daniel , Jasmine help Marawi rehab efforts
When war fell on Marawi , the city was not the only thing left ravaged . Close to 400,000 Filipinos were displaced from their homes by the fivemonth siege that lasted from May to October 2017 . Fleeing to safety , they abandoned their property , their sources of livelihood .
Marawi suffered more than P17 billion in damaged infrastructure , private properties and economic activities during the course of the war . Many were on the brink of hopelessness , not knowing how to rebuild from the ashes . Evacuees struggled in temporary shelters and refugee sites with no electricity .
The darkness around the city did not just make the situation difficult and unsafe , but also gave perpetuated fear among evacuees who were unsure of what the next days would bring .
In September 2017 , PepsiCo and Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc . in partnership with MyShelter Foundation ’ s Liter of Light went to work to provide the community with sustainable sources of light .
To get more hands into the project , the team also engaged their brand ambassadors Daniel Padilla , Jasmine Curtis-Smith , National University volleyball player Jaja Santiago , and Magic 89.9 radio jocks Tin Gamboa ( DJ Suzy ), Anthony James Bueno ( Tony Toni ), and Eric Virata ( Slick Rick ) to help build Solar gasera lights in October 2017 for delivery to Marawi . Each “ gasera ” light is made of LED bulbs wired to miniature solar panels using a copper board . It houses rechargeable batteries similar to those found in computers .
To date , the team with the help of Marawi community leaders have distributed 1,000 solar gasera lamps and installed 200 street lights in the city and the temporary shelters . ●

It ’ s a triple blessing for Shamcey Supsup as she is now four months pregnant , celebrating her birthday and is opening her restaurant number 12 .
Yes , she along with husband Lloyd Lee has a dozen restaurants now in just three years of starting their very first Pedro ‘ N Coi branch in Fisher Mall . They also opened the more budget friendly Tambayan ni Pedro and just last week , they opened ‘ 90s classic Scott Burger at the third floor cinema area of Uptown BGC .
All their restaurants trigger nostalgia as they style the place with pop culture reference . For Scott Burger by PnC ( Pedro ‘ N Coi ), the architectslash-beauty queen really made use of her profession because you ’ ll really feel as if you ’ re inside the LRT 1 inside the restaurant since it was often near the stations where you would find a branch .
“ Scott Burger was the very first food business we thought of making because it was already close to family . Lloyd ’ s uncle , si Uncle Greg was the one who started it and started the buy-one take-one offer . So this is really close to our hearts ,” she said .
Even though Scott Burger is in BGC , Shamcey made sure to keep the prices reasonable . They ’ re also offering six-piece buy-one-box-get-
one -box free burgers as well .
Eating a Scott Burger is like going on a trip to memory lane said Shamcey , “ I am very hands on in this and I made sure that the burgers still tastes like the ones people used to love back then . We just upgraded our meat to wagyu but the flavors are all the same .” ●

Heart not bothered by non-greetings from Ai Ai and Kris
Practically like any woman heavy with a child , Heart Evangelista ( Love Marie Ongpauco-Escudero ) is going through the usual hassle in her first trimestral period of pregnancy .
Apart from the vomiting spells , her nostrils are allergic to certain scents . But if there ’ s one thing that Heart goes admittedly crazy about , it ’ s “ white ” food like eggs , bread , mayonnaise , among others .
The Kapuso actress isn ’ t finicky though , a loving request of mayo-filled ham-and-egg sandwich from Senator Chiz Escudero in the middle of the night isn ’ t strange at all .
Vignettes is just too happy for Heart who has actually planned getting pregnant three years after she and Chiz got hitched . She couldn ’ t possibly make a go for it as the following year — 2016 — had Chiz running for Vice President .

Why them ? Kris is open about her long-standing friendship with Chiz , while Ai Ai — back in ABS-CBN — has always treated Heart as her own daughter ( Heart played one of Ai Ai ’ s kids in “ Tanging Ina ”).
Could it be — as the netizens speculated — that Kris and Ai Ai “ abstained ” since they ’ re both close and identified with Mrs . Dantes ? Kris is godmother to Mr . and Mrs . Dantes while Ai Ai and the latter co-host GMA ’ s “ Sunday PinaSaya .”
Vignettes , however , believes otherwise . For all we know , both Kris and Ai Ai did congratulate Heart via other means of communication . It ’ s also flimsy , if not trivial to think it was for Mrs . Dantes ’ sake that they chose to remain silent .
Already mothers themselves , there should be no longer room for such childish “ kampi-kampihan .” ●

She and actor Gerald Anderson are no longer together , she said . Her interest right now is her career , she added . She will resume work on the movie “ Eerie ,” with Charo Santos-Concio and directed by Mikhail Red . Next , she will start work on her first film with Aga Muhlach , with Paul Soriano at the helm . ●
