Darna role
Liza Soberano is in the thick of preparations for her new Darna movie .
“ Yes !” she reveals . “ My trainings are rigid at this point . Imagine , I practice four times a week and it ’ s no joke . But I ’ m pleased with the results . I can confidently say that I ’ m ready when the cameras officially start grinding on November or December !”
“ I ’ m really touched and humbled to know that Ms . Angel ( Locsin ), Ms . Marian ( Rivera ) and even Ms . Nanette ( Medved ) extended their warm good luck to me in top-billing the latest installation of Darna on the big screen . Coming from them , it ’ s such an honor . I ’ m blessed to have obtained their approval . This serves as an inspiration and motivation for me to really deliver .
“ Actually , Darna is a very challenging role for any actress . The character has been part of our pop culture for the longest time and the line-up of female stars who portrayed it over the years are simply the cream of the crop . I ’ m just so lucky to be given the chance to breathe life to the role . I hope that I ’ ll be able to meet the general expectation of the public . I promise to give it my best shot !”
Many are curious on the costume she ’ ll wear : will it be a sexy one or will it be adjusted to her wholesome image ?
“ Personally , I would opt for a more conservative costume . As much as possible , I don ’ t like showing much skin . But I believe it is part of the challenges I have to face in accepting the role . As the new Darna , I have to get out of my comfort zone and learn to be more comfortable with my body and skin if I were to wear that iconic costume ,” ends Liza . ●
Nadine , dad post loving messages after death of kin
Nadine Lustre ’ s father Ulysses took to Facebook to share his thoughts on depression after the sudden demise of his son Isaiah , who would have turned 17 last Friday , October 13 .
He wrote , “ The loss of a father or a mother is painful , the loss of a son is unbearable . The demons of depression is devouring our youth . I call out to all sons and daughters to please stop hurting yourselves . Your depression is incomparable to us parents when you do . Life is beautiful . Please bear that in mind . Happy Birthday , Ice . We love you so much [ sic ].”
In another post , he posted his realizations after reading the writings of his late son .
“ You got me there , Ice , so much lessons learned . Even I am not free from depression , thru your writings I ’ m now more bolder to face it head on . I am proud of you Ice . This tragedy will not end unnoticed . A battlecry for fighting depression will be shouted . And there will be awareness [ sic ],” he stated .
Recently , Nadine posted a message on social media about depression .
“ If you ever hit rock bottom , don ’ t be ashamed of opening up to your loved ones . If anyone understands and cares about what you ’ re going through , it ’ s them .
You are who / what you say you are . If you think you ’ re weak , you will be weak . If you tell yourself you are not worthy , you will be unworthy . Joshua is pressured on new role
As part of “ The Good Son ,” the newest primetime series in the Kapamilya network , Joshua Garcia revealed it ’ s hard not to feel the pressure to deliver after being entrusted with another major project .
“‘ Yung buong team sobrang pressured kami . Supposedly kasi dapat Kapamilya Gold kami tapos nabago , biglang nabago na primetime na . Oo , na-pressure kami . Siguro ‘ yung pressure na ‘ yung gagamitin namin para mas ma-motivate kami na galingan namin kasi ang daming mas nakakapanuod nun , nung oras na ganun ,” he said , “ Nakikita ko sa buong team na pressured kami pero hindi namin hinahayaan na maapektuhan ‘ yung work namin , ‘ yung arte naming . According to a police report published on Journal . com . ph , Isaiah was found injured by his siblings Ezekiel and Naomie after hearing gunshots inside his room . He was taken to the Pacific Global Medical Center but was not able to survive his injuries . ●
Baron Geisler back on Twitter after arrest
Baron Geisler got arrested after allegedly causing a commotion at a restobar in Quezon City on Monday night , October 16 . He is currently detained at Kamuning Police Station .
According to a report by Super Radyo dzBB ’ s Divine Reyes on the radio show “ Unang Balita ,” Baron was taken by police on Monday after he reportedly shouted at customers and staff members in a resto-bar in Tomas Morato Avenue .
It is said that the actor has been banned from the resto-bar also for causing trouble , but he was permitted to drink there Monday night because he appeared calm when he entered .
Geisler stated at a police station that he did not stir commotion . He also claimed that the police did not follow due process in arresting him .
Due to the incident , the restobar reportedly plans to file charges of scandal and unjust vexation against Geisler . ●
