4th Impact to spend Yuletide season
in the Philippines
Christmas is a family
affair for most Pinoys as
with sister act 4th Impact
whose members will spend
the holidays in the country
this year.
“After three years na
palaging nasa ibang bansa
kami nagpa-Pasko eh,
ngayon pinili po namin
na dito sa Pilipinas mag-
Christmas kasi na-miss
namin ’yung Filipino food
and siyempre family namin,”
they said in an interview.
The sisters Mylene,
Irene, Almira and Celina will
return to London in January
to
continue
recording
their album set for release
sometime 2017. The group
revealed that though it will
be released internationally,
their record producer still wants
to put a distinctly Filipino flavor to
their sound.
“So pinaghalo po (’yung
tunog) kaya abangan na lang po
nila kasi hindi pa pwede sabihin
kung ano laman ng album,” they
said.
After slugging it out on “X-
Factor UK,” 4th Impact has been
busy doing shows around the
world or, as they put it, “patuloy
po naming nire-represent ang
OPM music.”
The group considers their
stint on the competition the most
nerve-wracking moment of their
career, citing specifically the time
they faced show judge Simon
Cowell.
“Pero dahil sa dami na rin nga
ng aming mga pinagdaanan ay
nahasa na kami sa (mga) singing
contests (tulad non) kaya in-enjoy
nalang namin,” they said.
The group is proud of
other Filipinos who continue to
shine in international singing
competitions. They cited Filipino
singer Ivy Grace Paredes who
made it to this season’s “X Factor
UK” Bootcamp round. She
impressed all four judges with
her powerful rendition of Whitney
Houston’s “All The Man That I
Need.” However, Ivy has dropped
out of the competition as visa
issues kept her from travelling to
the US for the Judges’ Houses
section of the show.
“Actually nagkita nga po kami
nu’ng challenge niya. Nagte-
text din siya na ’pag-pray
namin siya. Pero ayun nga po
nagkaroon ng problem. Pero
sabi niya sasali daw po siya
ulit,” they said.
While in London recently,
the group was also able to
catch Rachelle Ann Go in “Les
Misérables.”
“Nu’ng
pinanood
namin siya eh, naiyak po
kami kasi Filipino siya tapos
pinapalakpakan
siya
ng
maraming
tao.
Napaka-
humble niya din,” they said.
4th Impact is scheduled
to perform with Arnel Pineda,
Michael Pangilinan, Morissette
Amon, Mayumi & T.O.M.S.
Band in the “Powerhouse:
Pinoy
World-Class
Pinoy
Performers” concert.
“Very excited po kami at
kinakabahan to work with them,”
the group said.
It’s the first time they will
perform with Arnel in a concert.
The only other time they shared
the stage was on “ASAP” where
they sang Queen’s “Bohemian
Rhapsody.”
Produced by Lucky 7 Koi
Productions Inc., “Powerhouse:
Pinoy
World-Class
Pinoy
Performers” is on Oct. 28, 7:30
p.m. at The Theater of Solaire
Resorts & Casino.●
