6 Philippine Showbiz Today July 22 - August 7, 2016 Tres Kantos gives most of their winnings to Daddy D Winners Tres Kantos (Jovit Baldivino, Bugoy Drilon, and Dominador Aviola) on ‘We Love OPM’ On Tonight with Boy Abunda, Jovit Baldivino, Bugoy Drilon, and Dominador Aviola, known as the group Tres Kantos on the celebrity edition of the show We Love OPM, together with their coach Erik Santos talked about their triumphs and trials after being declared winners. “Yes, it’s a competition, pero dapat makita ng mga tao na you’re having fun,” Erik Santos shared on his challenges as the team’s coach. Jovit also talked about the time wherein he felt he let his team down, “three days po akong hindi umattend ng rehearsals dahil may nauna po akong [commitment]. Ito po yung isa pang masama, hindi po ako makapagreply kasi hindi ko po alam yung sasabihin ko.” On the other hand Bugoy forgot the lyrics to the song during one of their performances as, “nawala po sa isip ko na competition yun,” he said. “So akala ko taping, pwedeng ulitin kaya nagsabi ako, ‘sorry sorry sorry! One more time!’ Pero sabi nila, hindi because magiging unfair ka sa ibang contestants. Doon po ako nag-breakdown na mali yung ginawa ko. Dapat nagpatuloy na lang ako. But I accepted my mistake po. I accepted and I learned from it po.” Daddy D defined the word teamwork when he responded to these slip-ups. Having won P1M, the group shared that from the start, they’ve already agreed on how they were to split their winnings. “Una pa lang nung pinag- uusapan namin na kung sakaling manalo, kung ano namanshare ko, ibibigay ko din talaga kay Daddy D,” Erik declared. While Jovit said, “siyempre po, kay Daddy na lang po muna yung mas malaki. Kasi po may pangarap po siya. Pangarap din po niyang magpagawa ng bahay.” A grateful Daddy D then remarked, “alam mo sir, simula nung bata pa ako, hindi ako nakaranas ng magandang buhay. Nung bata pa ako, nag-aaral pa ako ng elementary, naglalako lang kami ng gulay ng mama ko.” On a more personal note, during the segment Fast Talk, Boy asked Bugoy, “oo o hindi, mahal mo pa ba si Liezl Garcia?” The singer answered, “yes, of course.” Meanwhile, when Jovit was asked, “oo o hindi, handa mo na bang pakasalan ang girlfriend mo?” His reply was, “hindi pa.”• - C. Malonzo, push.com Rhian Ramos bares it all Rhian is set to return to the small screen for GMA Network’s television adaptation of the 1992 blockbuster movie, Sinungaling Mong Puso, which begins airing worldwide on July 18 through GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV. The actress, who has the daunting task of reimagining the role originally played by multi- awarded veteran actress Vilma Santos, is challenged by the character of Clara, whose abusive relationship with her husband Roman draws her into the arms of the much younger man Jason. Kapuso star Rhian Ramos, with her striking looks, statuesque frame, and talent, has been turning heads ever since her entry into show business. Since she started her showbiz career as a commercial model in 2006, she has worked with some of the industry’s seasoned personalities. After stunning readers as the latest cover girl of FHM Philippines for July, it’s about time Rhian bared it all – ‘it’ being her acting prowess, of course. “I’m pressured since it’s Ms. Vilma, but the advice given to me is do it on my own way and hopefully people will find appreciation in the kind of labor I’ll be doing on it,” shares the Kapuso star. Rhian will be joined by Rafael Rosell, as her husband Roman, Kiko Estrada as lover Jason, and Jazz Ocampo as Jason’s wife Hannah. Catch Rhian’s portrayal of Clara, as she struggles to choose between a love that is right and a love that is real, on GMA’s newest drama series Sinungaling Mong Puso on GMA Pinoy TV.• Tito Sotto: Controversial remarks ‘taken out of context’ Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III said his perceived “victim blaming” remarks towards a female winner of an Eat Bulaga segment last July 9 was taken out of context as he faced criticism from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). The commission, which aims to safeguard women and gender equality in the country, said on Tuesday that Sotto’s comments implying that it was the fault of the contestant, identified as Katrina Conde, that she was taken advantage by a male friend because she was drunk, are “clear examples of victim blaming and shaming.” Sotto said he did not have any intention to shame Conde, who was left by her husband after she was accused of infidelity. The senator added that he was merely suggesting that a married woman should not be drinking with other men. “Sabi niya kasi ay nalaman ng asawa niya na nakikiinom- inom siya sa mga lalaki doon sa lugar nila,” he said. “So the comment that we had was, ‘You’re a married woman, may asawa ka, kababae mo na tao nakikishot- shot ka roon sa mga tao sa labas. Pagbibintangan ka talaga.” “Eh kasi pinagbintangan daw siya that she had a relation with one of the men. That’s all. That’s the context. I don’t know where their story came from na napahiya raw iyong babae. Siya nagkukuwento noon. So what are they saying. There’s no more freedom of expression or freedom of speech? “What I was looking at really was there should be a preservation of institution of marriage. When you’re married, you act like a married man or a married woman,” Sotto insisted. Sotto even accused some who posted an allegedly edited version of his conversation with Conde on social media with the Senator Tito Sotto malicious intent to paint him in a bad light. “They should watch the episode, not the edited version on FB. Pag in-edit mo, puwede mo talaga pasamain. But it’s not true,” he said. Senator Sotto’s controversial remark
