22 Philippine Showbiz Today December 8 - 21, 2015 New drama series And I Love You So With a star-studded cast comprising some of the greatest actors from different generations, ABS-CBN’s newest series “And I Love You So” promises to present touching drama to the Filipino audience. The drama series revolves around the story of two school girls Trixie (Julia Barretto) and Joanna (Miles Ocampo), whose rivalry extends from their school activities to their personal relationships. Their hatred for each other grows deeper when Trixie’s father Alfonso (Tontom Gutierrez) and Joanna’s mother Michelle (Dimples Romana), who happened to be former lovers, decided to get married. But happiness does not last long. Sooner than expected, Trixie’s mother and Alfonso’s first wife Katrina (Angel Aquino) comes in the picture to win back everything from Michelle. In a press launch on December 1, the stars, directors, and one of the writers of “And I Love You So” shared their unique experiences in making the drama series. According to one of its directors Onat Diaz, “And I Love You So” shows how millennials deal with different life issues. But more that, it also tells a story about families. “It tells a very nice story about families. And how these two set of of established antagonists in the industry. According to the 18-year- old actress, people can expect several fight scenes between her and Ocampo. Ocampo, on the other hand, expressed her excitement in finally people deal with lif e-- kung paano mag-react ang mga katulad nila Michelle at Joanna sa buhay at kung paano rin mag-react ang mga katulad nila Katrina and Trixie sa mga dagok ng buhay,” he said. Barretto said her role as Trixie is challenging because she had to learn how to become feisty by observing the performances getting a big break in showbiz. “Sobrang masya po ako kasi finally, siyempre, ang tagal ko rin naman po itong hinintay. Grabe po ‘yong tiwala na binigay ng Dreamscape po sa akin,” she said. Meanwhile, Romana and Aquino revealed that their characters in the series are actually far from what they are in real life. “Medyo mas may challenge kasi ang role ko dito single mother ako e, which is totally the opposite in real life. So I really had to talk to some of my single- parent friends,” Romana said. Aquino, who is a single parent in real life, said that she can better relate to Romana’s character. “Si Katrina bilang obsessed with a man, to get his love, and build her world around him is something so alien to me,” she said. “Theoretically, if you wanna keep your man you have to both be individuals, strong as individuals so that you’ll be able to love one another as different people and embrace your differences together.” Apart from Aquino, Barretto, Romana, Ocampo, and Gutierrez, the drama series also features actors Iñigo Pascual, Nikki Valdez, Jay Manalo, Dante Rivero, Kenzo Guttierrez, Benjie Paras, and Francis Magundayao. “And I Love You So” will air on December 7, Monday in replacement of “Walang - ABS-CBN Iwanan.”• Shaira-Mark love team put to rest TV5 star Shaira Mae dela Cruz admits to have been surprised over TV5 management’s decision to break up her onscreen partner- ship with Mark Neumann. “Nagulat po ako at nalung- kot,” she said. Shaira and Mark have been working together constantly for some time now, starting with their appearance on the Filipino adaptation of theKorean series, “Baker King.” They were subse- quently paired in several episodes of “Wattpad Presents” including “Mister Popular Meets Miss No- body,” “Mister Popular Meets Miss Nobody: Still In Love,” and “I’m In Love With A DotA Player,” in- cidentally, among the highest-rat- ing episodes of the show. In any case, Shaira is moving on. She hopes for Mark to contin- ue finding success in his career. “Happy naman ako for him,” she said. Dubbed as TV5’s Kilig Prince and Princess, Shaira and Mark were discovered on the talent and reality show “Artista Academy” in 2012. On the brighter side of things, Shaira is on cloud nine over her endorsement deal with Caronia nail polish. “This is a first (for me) so I’m very happy,” she said. “Sana marami pa sumunod.” A certified kikay, Shaira is par- ticular when it comes to her nails. She normally changes nail colors at least five times a month. “Maarte ako. ’Pag nag-chip na siya, tuluyan ko na siyang ba- bakbakin, so kailangan palitan ko na agad,” she said. Aside from being a form of self-expression, painting nails is how she bonds with her girl- friends. “Sa tagal pong mag-apply marami na pong mapagkekwen- tuhan. ’Yung mga crush, mga problema, lahat napagkwekwen- tuhan,” she maintained. Shaira cleared, however, that she doesn’t like to see nail polish on men. “Gusto ko lang clean (’yung energy. It is also the color that kuko nila),” she said. Speaking of nail polish, the best relates to her current career 20-year-old actress loves yellow, trajectory, she said.• - Paulyn Abando, MB which she associates with joy and Felix Roco mum on reuniting with dad Bembol Young character actor Felix Roco refuses to elaborate on reports that he has buried the hatchet with dad Bembol Roco. “Oo (nagkausap kami) pero I don’t wanna talk about my private life in public… Oo, okay na ’yun,” said the actor. On a visit to the set of the GMA soap “Little Nanay” where Bembol is among cast members, he shared that his spat with his twin sons Felix and Dominic Roco had already been ironed out, noting it stemmed simply from lack of communication. Asked about it, Felix said, “Wala nga, eh. Okay lang naman kami. Nag-uusap naman kami hindi lang katulad ng dati.” What Felix isn’t averse to discussing is his film, “Angela Markado,” where he plays one of the rapists of Andi Eigenmann in the titular role. Noting he had not seen the original film starring Hilda Koronel, he said “hindi kami nag- compare” working on the new one. He relied on “imagination” preparing for his role but it wasn’t lost on him that “lahat naman ng rape scenes ay intense.” Felix did not balk at the challenge of doing such a controversial scene. “Para sa akin, It’s just work,” he said. “Kahit na anong role pa ’yan, artista ka, ’di ba? If you believe in the project, why not do it?” He added what’s paramount in doing such scenes is co-actors don’t get hurt. “Wala, alalayan niyo lang ang isa’t isa. We made it to the point na we talk to each other kasi nga aware kami sa suot niya, baka may mangyari. We have to rehearse the scene first…”• - Alex Brosas, MB
