Indeed , digital transformation has become more essential now , with the pandemic limiting physical contact and driving people more to their digital devices .
In this issue , we have spotlighted on True Digital Philippines , one of PRA family ’ s newest members . The company is a subsidiary of True Corporation , a leading communications conglomerate in Thailand known for its mission in enabling digital transformation across Southeast Asia .
They provide on-the-ground support for TD Group ’ s services , which includes O2O rewards , B2B solutions , data analytics , and digital lifestyle entertainment aimed at serving the human experience by reaching out to consumers , merchants , enterprises , and creators .
True Digital Country Head Dindo Marzan shared more about what the company does , how it started in the Philippines , the challenges they faced and how they took these on :
What are the services you offer to clients , especially in the retail industry ?
In line with our vision to digitally revolutionize the Philippines , we have the TrueID platform for Filipino creators to showcase their talent on the virtual international stage . This addresses the needs of the modern viewer by providing engaging content covering news , entertainment , food , travel , technology , sports , and learning . Current TrueID Creators include Richard Juan , Erwan Heussaff , Manila Broadcasting Company , Republiq Group of Companies , Keep Filming , and John Prats ' Bright Bulb Productions , among others .
We also offer creative marketing services and digital solutions that
|
help improve company operational efficiency using innovative means . Collaborative efforts such as native advertising and content creation aim to cultivate customer and business relationships both online and offline .
Can you share with us about True Digital ’ s journey of coming into the Philippines ?
The Philippines has long dominated the online landscape as dedicated users of telecommunication services and online content , extending the national identity of warmth and hospitality to the virtual space . So when TDG sought to expand operations in Southeast Asia , they were immediately drawn to the social media capital of the world .
While Filipinos are skilled in quickly adapting to new technology , we have yet to make a massive cultural shift in terms of upgrading analog processes to keep up in the new era . Bringing True Digital to our shores will help bridge the gap between tradition and modernization .
Twenty-twenty was a challenging year , but there were also opportunities for growth / improvement . How would you describe this year for your company ?
True Digital Philippines , which has been around for less than a year at the time , had yet to officially introduce ourselves in the market when the lockdown was enforced . Despite these circumstances , we were able to successfully launch our digital lifestyle platform TrueID via livestream on social media .
True Digital also quickly expanded as a company , onboarding many talented individuals remotely through a series of emails , messages , and conference calls . With the trust , support , and strength of this newly
|
assembled team , we were galvanized into action . In 2020 alone , we launched full-blown marketing campaigns , published original content on our website , and even staged a live online pitching competition for creators called TrueID Click at Baicon . Overcoming all these obstacles made the successes all the more meaningful . It was quite an eventful year for us .
With the COVID-19 disrupting businesses , how have you adapted to this new setting ?
We wanted first and foremost to make sure that our team members maintain a personal life in the new normal . We started initiating regular one-on-one check-ins with employees to see how they are doing and understand their personal context .
As with most activities that took place pre-lockdown , there were additional layers which turned daily tasks into a great undertaking . To strike a better work-life balance , we became more efficient with our time . We aimed for clear and precise communications , establishing an agenda while still leaving room for creative brainstorming .
For clients , we offered livestream event planning and management , virtual campaigns , as well as branded articles and videos . We also extended our support to businesses and partners by providing free digital transformation ( DX ) consultations and workshops in any way we can .
What are you looking forward to in 2021 ?
We want to continue , collaborating , learning , and participating in projects that will
|
prove indispensable for the Filipino people . We are also looking forward to seeing startups , products , and services thrive in this new normal .
What advice would you give retailers in this time of pandemic in terms of going digital ?
We encourage retailers to step out of their comfort zone and experience the sweeping expanse of the digital world . We also know that the pandemic triggered a massive digital transformation in all industries . For the retail sector , getting into ecommerce is already inevitable . True Digital can be your partner in this DX journey .
What value do you find in becoming a PRA member ?
Collaboration and compassion are very important in everything that we do at True Digital . Thanks to PRA ’ s reputable position in the industry and impressive roster of professionals , we can look forward to a lively exchange of ideas and knowledge transfers through webinars and networking opportunities .
