The Queensland Filipino-Australian Arts Association ( QFAAA ), Inc . celebrated THE 75 YEARS ANNIVERSARY OF PHILIPPINES- AUSTRALIA FRIENDSHIP on Sunday , 16 May , 2021 from 9:00am until 4:00pm . The ART EVENT was organised by QFAAA , Inc . President , Ivabelle Bernabe . It was held at the huge and spacious space at the residence area of Perla Pound - one of the Board of Directors of QFAAA , Inc . In the “ CHALK ART FUN DAY ACTIVITY ,” QFAAA , Inc . invited family members and friends and they were given the opportunity to participate in the Chalk Art Painting Activity which was held at 111 Elanora Way , Karalee - Perla ’ s Residence . Special Guest was Mrs . Margaret Grummitt , the Philippine Honorary Consul General in Brisbane , Queensland . At the CHALK ART DAY , everyone was invited to participate in doing an artwork using chalk on the surface of a designated cemented ground at the address given above . As a requirement , individuals or groups participating were asked to REGISTER upon arrival . There were about 60 participants in the CHALK PAINTING ACTIVITY . All PARTICIPANTS were provided a Chalk Kit of 6 different colours and participants were also informed that they can bring their own chalks or buy their own chalks on site ( at a small cost ) when needed . TIPS suggested when doing the CHALK ART were the following : Keep it simple , make a sketch using dry chalk ( a grid may help ); use wet chalk for smooth and vibrant results :( dip in water before using , bring plastic cups or a small bucket ); and prepare an eraser cloth ( or bring a rug ). Participants and guests were asked to bring food to SHARE , drinks , chairs , camping tables , hats , umbrellas , pair of sunglasses , garden stool , flat cardboard box to sit on , or a blanket and knee pads , if any . DRONE AERIAL FILMING occurred between 10:00am-12:00noon . Filming during the painting was about 10-15 minutes each time for everyone who participated ! Each participant was given an area to draw and colour - a square space about 1.5sq . meters each side . Other participants were asked to colour the art letters . Three Members of the Board of Directors ( BODs ) - Ivabelle Bernabe , President ; Franco Vendramini , Vice-President , and Nikki Domingo ( Member ) worked on the overall design . All artists were encouraged to prepare some designs or photos / screenshots , etc . for themselves . Simple but bold designs or patterns were preferable - about 20 design ideas for artists to choose from . ALL QFAAA , Inc . Artists were encouraged to actively lead the CHALK ART ACTIVITY for the day .
The CHALK ART DAY was indeed an INVITA- TION TO CELEBRATE THE ‘ MATESHIP ’ and “ TO HAVE LOTS OF FUN TOGETHER !” Indeed , what a FUN DAY it was , and an interesting CHALK ART DAY CELEBRATION ! “ A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE !” More Photos on Page 21
