Edmonton Pinoys celebrate The Edmonton Heritage Festival
The
Council
of
Edmonton
Filipino
Associations once again
hosted the Philippine Pavilion
at the Edmonton Heritage
Festival held on July 30,
31 & August 1st at William
Hawrelak Park. This is the 41st
year of the festival and the
Philippine Pavilion has been a
participant all throughout the
years. The Heritage Festival
promotes public awareness,
understanding
and
appreciation of the cultural
diversity
of
Edmonton,
and different organizations
introduce their customs and
culture, display and sell art
and cultural goods, as well
as showcase their cultures
through music, dance and
foods. The Philippines is one
of the most popular pavilions,
showcasing
authentic
Filipino food, arts, crafts and
entertainment.
Despite
the
early
closure and evacuation on
Saturday, and a cold and rainy
Sunday, Monday’s excellent
weather attracted hundreds of
thousands visitors. The Food
Pavilion sold over 80,000
tickets. Mandy Servito, the
overall chairman of the
Philippine Pavilion, was joined
by hundreds of volunteers
from different organizations;

the three- day event and
worked very hard for the
Philippine Pavilion.
The Heritage Festival
is the largest multicultural
festival in Canada. The
attendance this year was
estimated over 340,000. The
Council of Edmonton Filipino
Association would like to thank
all the volunteers, performers
and all participants for their
hard work and dedication
making this event another
success. They would like

field of entertainment, and
