Jaya explained that her move to the Kapamilya network was due to a “dark moment” in life. “I think there was a period in my career, in my life, that was pretty dark,” she explained in an interview in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired on Wednesday. “I would have to say na madilim siya, mabigat and I just said, ‘I’ll handle all of these with a smile.’” “Right now I am a Kapamilya. I would have to say na ito po ay kagagawan ng Panginoong Diyos,” she added. Jaya gave a hint about her move when she performed on Saturday at the noontime show “It’s Showtime.” The Queen of Soul also named Erik Santos and Kyla as key people who helped her transition to the Kapamilya network. “I was kind of independent for ten, eleven months,” she revealed. “Then [Cornerstone] came up to me because of Erik Santos, I have to say I owe it a lot to him and I think Kyla also.” Although she’s not yet sure when she’ll start performing in the Sunday variety show “ASAP,” Jaya started being one of the judges of “Tawag ng Tanghalan.” (J. Jimenez, PS) Ka Tunying: Right where he belongs TV and radio anchor Anthony Taberna could not be more elated being with ABS-CBN and for the longest time now. “Napaka-supportive ng ABS-CBN sa career ko. Maganda ang pagtrato sa’kin ng kumpanya,” he said. Anthony maintained he will never transfer networks even after his contract expires by the end of the year. He said, “Ang kagandahan kasi meron silang tiwala sa’kin and I’m sure magtatagal pa ’yung pagsasama namin.” Anthony, also known to followers as Ka Tunying, hosts several shows for the entertainment giant including “Umagang Kay Ganda” and “Tapatan Ni Tunying.” He also hosts “Dos Por Dos” with Gerry Baja. via DZMM, the network’s radio arm. Busy as he is, Anthony found time to establish several businesses in partnership with his wife Rossel, including a salon, a coffee shop and a bakery. Ka Tunying’s Café will open its second branch in Timog, Quezon City soon. Specialties include crinkles, Spanish bread, carrot muffin, kamote cheese roll, and bototay logganisa. They also serve rice meals. “Salamat sa Panginoong Diyos dahil pinagtatagumpay Niya itong mga business ventures naming mag-asawa,” Anthony expressed. Rossel is also managing an agency called Outbox Media Powerhouse Corp.. “We organize events sa main venues here in the Philippines like MOA Arena, Araneta Coliseum, and ’yung recently sa Philippine Arena. Nagha-handle na rin kami ng clients from different multinational companies,” she shared. The company celebrated its 10th year anniversary last July 25 and Rossel could not be prouder. “This is something na sinimulan ko on my own, of course, with the support of Anthony,” she said. It was a double celebration with Rossel also celebrating her birthday the same day. “Milestone ito sa dalawang mahalaga sa buhay ko,” Anthony said. As birthday wish, Rossel shared she simply wants Outbox Media Powerhouse Corp. to continue to prosper. “Sana mas marami pang mga clients ang magtiwala sa’min,” she intoned. Anthony has a simple wish for Rossel. “Sana mas lalo niya pa ’kong ibigin dahil ganu’n din naman ako sa kanya.” “Mahirap kasi ang trabaho ni Roselle. Ang pagiging nanay ay mahirap na tapos ’yung asawa niya gwapo pa, sobrang hirap kaya nu’n,” he quipped, adding, “I wish her all the best at sa lahat ng dreams niya para sa kumpanya.” On her birthday, Anthony posted a sweet message for her on Facebook. Part of it read: “Sa aking mga mata, siya ang pinakamaganda sa balat ng lupa. Pero ’wag ka, kung gaano ang kaniyang kagandahang panlabas ay higit ang kaniyang kagandahang panloob. Isa siyang napakabuting tao na may busilak na puso. Mabuting anak at Da best na mommy sa aking mga anak. Da best na Kaibigan. Da best na Boss sa kaniyang kumpanya at syempre Da Best na asawa. Napakabait sa akin ng Panginoon dahil ibinigay Niya sa akin si Rossel.” Mr. and Mrs, Taberna make sure they spend enough time with their two kids, Zoey and Helga. “Pinipilit namin na walang activities on the weekends kaya lang mahirap din talaga,” Anthony said. “Siguro nakakabawi na lang kapag nakakakuha kami ng break para makabiyahe together ang pamilya.” Rossel added, “’Yung mga events usually during weekends naman, so most of the time sinasama ko pamilya ko.” (P. Francisco confirmed the split in a series of posts on the Instagram account of their only child Amelia “Mela” Lucille, who turned two last April. Cantiveros and Francisco were married on December 9, 2013 at the Holy Cross Parish in General Santos City, three months after the comedienne announced her pregnancy.
