The previous Conservative government made changes to our immigration system that ensured a level playing field for applicants. While we cracked down on fraud to ensure our system stays fair, we made it easier for legitimate visitors and immigrants to come to Canada. We ensured Canada continued to accept immigrants who wanted to build a better life for themselves economic immigration streams. Canada’s Conservatives will continue to advocate for a compassionate immigration system that prioritizes the world’s most vulnerable, while ensuring that those who play by the rules and enter Canada through legal channels are not forgotten.
