Eleven-year-old Niki Garcia , a budding talent from Surrey , won the TD Bank Canadian Talent Showdown 2017 on Aug 13 , 2017 in Chinatown . Niki went to an audition back in July and she made it to the top 10 as a finalist . The other contestants were from different cities in the Lower Mainland , and the contest was sponsored by Impark and TD Canada Bank .

Niki won several prizes such as a stuffed animal worth $ 300 , $ 300 in cash and $ 100 in gift certificates . She sang a song while playing the piano that she composed herself . Niki won in the Junior Category for song in the said contest .
