TAPSILOG Christmas Party Honours Fil-Canadians

The TAPSILOG (FilCan
Network for Truth & Justice)
association held its third
Christmas celebration at the
St. Patrick’s Recreation Centre
in Vancouver. TAPSILOG is
an advocacy group for good
governance and transparency.
It was founded on June 5,
2014.
The
celebration,
organized by Freddie Bagunu,

was made special by honouring
Fil-Canadians in Vancouver.
Awarded the Gawad Ulirang
Ina at Ama (Model Mother
and Father Award) were Delia
Monses, Dominga Garcia and
Nicanor and Efigenia Chiong.
Leadership Awards were
also given to Concepcion
Colobong, Perla de Peralta,
Buena Kilala Chua, Jojo
Quimpo, Ashok Bhargava,

Angie Igonia, Carmencita and
Freddie Orquiola, and Romeo
and Conney Mercado
Hailed as Gng. Maharlika
2016 was Thelma Durkovich,
while Domeng Bagunu was
named Gng. Maharlika 2017.
Daniel Mark Casuga, artist of
the Tapsilog Christmas Party,
was given a Special Award.

Miriam,
and MLA Mabel
Elmore were present to join
the festivities. Rey Fortaleza
of Reyfort Media Group, and
Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould,
Federal Minister of Justice and
Attorney General of Canada
were also present.
