Student Elliott Lancaster MBE attends the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates

In December 2022 , Keele PhD student Elliott Lancaster MBE was invited to attend and present at the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates ( WSNPL ). An opportunity not to be missed , this trip was made possible through the generosity of our alumni and their support of the Keele Key Fund .
Elliott says : “ I focused my talk on sustainability peace initiatives , closing with the following message ; ‘ In a world of global challenges ... sometimes the simplest solutions are the most sustainable .’ My subsequent conversation with Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi was immensely stimulating . His insights into the individual responsibility to shape sustainability policy and progress the UN ’ s Sustainable Development
Goals was inspiring . Talking to SBS News about the WSNPL enabled me to share these key messages more widely . I recognise that I was extremely fortunate to have been invited to attend this summit , but the important lessons learnt to build a more peaceful world are for everyone .”
Elliott was awarded an MBE for services to Youth Empowerment and Sustainability in Staffordshire in this year ’ s New Year ’ s Honours list , celebrating his work in campaigning for environmental and social causes , and his extensive volunteering efforts .
This is the latest in a long line of prestigious awards that Elliott Lancaster has received for his work in recent years , which also include a Prime Minister ’ s Point of Light Award ; a British Citizen Award medal ; and the Diana Award .
