Turning 40 a few years ago was my whole reason behind becoming healthier and fit. I decided to start training to compete in the Denver NPC bikini masters in June of 2012. I was 39 at the time and turning 40 two weeks after my competition. With determination behind me, I placed my first time on stage and took home a trophy. That just ignited me into wanting to do more and this lifestyle has never ended for me since.

I was approached by my now business partner, Steve Lovesee, to do a reality TV show based around my story and life as a female fitness competitor in Denver, CO, where I lived at the time. As we discussed the idea more, I decided to work with him on this project. He wanted to make me a producer of the show, as I was able to assist him with progressing his netowrk through my contacts to make it happen. I came up with the name CastIron

Ladies and it truly describes the ladies of the show. We all possess an extremely inspirational story behind our choices and lives as fitness competitors, which make the CastIron strong. It also represents what it takes to work hard on your physique through an intense diet and workout regimen making your way to the stage. Once, I started training to compete, I knew that it meant less time with my daughters and grand babies. It was hard for them because at that time, I was a Supervisor at a huge law firm working almost 12 hours a day and had to train about two hours a day on top of that. There was just not enough time to do it all and although they are older, it was tough for my daughters not having me around as much as they were used to. I committed my whole life to this for six months and focused on making it happen.
