I'm wondering that this Earth would be a better place if everyone excepted this truth and be rid of this them and us mentality.
"We are all related"
Magick is not aware of ethnicity, social status, or where one comes from. Being a shaman, a witch, or any other type of magickal practitioner does not mean that they are over or more enlightened than those whom do not knowingly practice magick. It can, is, and need to be practiced by all types of people. As Chris Sutton says several times. We all have medicine. We all have a gift to give to the Earth and to our fellow man. For example; I am a Cottage Witch. Most of my spells and magickal workings happen in my kitchen. I also use magick as I knit and create other items for magickal or mundane purposes. That is my medicine. I do not open portals (I not even sure I know how to anyways) I do not utilize any mediumship skills, and as far as I know I've never had a vision from the Gods. Chris' medicine is that of contacting and helping those in the spirit realm and using those gifts of mediumship. No two magickal paths are the same and no one should feel the need to compare one's else to another's path.
Coyote Chris does have a warning in regards to magick that I feel many should think about before using magick:
"People talk about light magick and dark magick. The magick is indifferent. It doesn't have a light or dark side. Its what people do with it and unfortunately we have seen what happens with people whom are corrupted by the power, based on the things they do. So the magick is just there and can be used by anybody and that is what people have to be careful about. It can be used for bad things; it can be used for so much more good things as well and that is what is beautiful about it."
One things about magick is that just about everyone has used magick in their lives and have no idea that they are doing it. For example a very simple candle magick spell is cased probably every day and that is the blowing out of birthday candles. One thinks of a wish and blows out the candles with the INTENT of the wish coming true after the candles are blown out. Magick can be as simple as that or as complex as falling in love; but it is all so powerful. Chris continues to explain that it is up to those whom use magick and do not realize it can be a danger to others and themselves.
"There are those whom use magick negatively and don't even realize they are doing it. That is very scary. There are those whom are very persuasive and very damaged people; all the want is power over other people. They are good about talking and sharing their message. They have a good flow going because they believe in what they are doing and believe that it is right. Jim Jones is a great example of that. Nine hundred people committed suicide because he said so. What a sorcerer or wizard he would have made."
Now Chris Sutton is not saying that because someone has a mental illness or are broken inside, because is a beautiful universal healer. Chris is however cautioning those to whom are having internal struggles to seek out help and heal themselves first because otherwise their magick maybe tainted. I know by personal experience that if I not in a positive emotional state or have other issues going on and I cast a spell, the spell doesn't really manifest how I envision it to. I have found that magick is very much so effected by what is in the heart of the magician at the time of the ritual. Chris brought up a book called Real Magick by Issac Bowman, whom perhaps is the only person in America to having a degree in Wizardry from California Burkly; Chris is an admirer of his work and explains an ideal from Real Magick:
