The opportunity to take up independent research through the Monash Doctoral Program is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences we can offer you .
The program consists of an extensive , independent research project in your discipline of choice , supported by a minimum of two academic supervisors throughout your candidature . Your study will result in a research thesis which makes a valuable contribution to the current body of knowledge on your chosen topic .

Doctor of Philosophy
Sunil ’ s research examines cancer pain management challenges in low- and middle-income countries , specifically in his home country Nepal , and explores the role of clinical pharmacists in improving patient outcomes . His work aims to inform healthcare policies and promote the integration of pharmacists into cancer care teams , leading to better pain management , medication , education , and quality of life for patients .
In 2023 , Sunil received the Young Health Researcher Award from the Nepal Health Research Council and was recognised among the top 2 % of cited scientists globally in health policy and services .
