ZERO FAULT PRODUCTION
Fratelli Roda SA has become the fi rst Swiss company to install a Bobst Accucheck unit, which delivers complete in-line quality checks of folding cartons. The unit reinforces its position as a supplier constantly focused on quality. The system is further expected to attract new business from the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
Franco Roda, general director at Fratelli Roda SA, says the company is known for investing in innovative technology.‘ It was natural for us to look at further improving the quality of our products. Our customers are on a continuous quest for perfection. We chose the Accucheck unit because it can check 100 percent of our folding carton production and meet their“ zero-fault” requirements.’
Placed in line with a Bobst Expertfold or Masterfold folder-gluer, the unit checks each carton for print-to-cut registration precision, printing defects, oil or water marks, ink splashes, carton damage or scratches, bad cut quality or colour variation. If a blank does not meet the quality specifi cations input by the operator, it is ejected from the production stream.
