INSIDE THE IPA

T he IPA Symposiums are always fun and informative . So count the recent one in August in Orlando , Florida ( Altamonte Springs to be exact ), as another excellent meeting . We really had a good time ! Good speakers , good sessions , reasonable pricing for registration and lodging , and they all added up to another “ home run ” in the winner ’ s column for the IPA . Those behind the scenes are the ones who allow the meeting to go so smoothly and help make the officers look so good . Shadowing new President Carlos Fighetti and new Vice President Kathy Rider was none other than Carri Raven Riemann . She worked directly with the hotel to make sure we had all the arrangements set for the meeting , that times and rooms were scheduled , and that our meals were delivered on time and on budget as planned . Lynn Fuller ’ s registration process was smooth and flawless as always . Our local arrangement host , Frank Smith , provided the goodie bags full of local Florida flavor … literally , and the barbeque at his home and nursery Saturday night was top notch . He did the barbeque circuit proud . These folks and more provided our attendees a meeting to remember .

Your IPA is now in the good hands of Carlos and Kathy as your new leaders . They ’ ll do excellent work as the IPA moves into the future partially based on the strategic plan as well as the unique ideas they bring to the organization . For me , thank you for your support during my tenure .
I plan to remain active in the organization and continue with my two-a-year regional meetings in the Southeast . I hope you ’ ll become involved in any of the IPA regional meetings in your area and even hope to see you at one of ours in the SE . My best to all of you ,
Immediate Past President
