taneously. Flowers are outstanding, often called ‘candy-strips’ flowers. They are crystalline white, with violet or pink stripes fading toward the tip. The lip is white, with intense pink stripes and a brilliant pink blotch in the center, contrasting with the pale yellow callus spotted with red and the pink column. Many growers consider this species to be the most charming in the whole genus, but it remains rare in cultivation, due mainly to the reputation of being difficult to maintain and to flower. It is only necessary to give this species slightly cooler temperatures than the other species to succeed in cultivating it. A pure white form, with absolutely no trace of coloration exists. I know this form only from a photograph from Hou Tse Liu and this variant has never been formally described. 8 Literature Cited Biais, B., Falcinelli, A. & Lafarge, D., 2011.
