A young girl and a man are sitting across from each other in chairs. The girl is looking at her hands that are folded in her lap. The man sighs then looks up from his clipboard.
Dr. White: Alice, I would like to talk about what you thought you saw.
Alice: I have seen a lot of things. (Her tone indifferent. Still looking at her hands)
Dr. White: (Sighs) What did you see in “Wonderland”? (Exasperated look on his face)
Alice: (Looks up at White) You should know White Rabbit, I told you last time we met.
Dr. White: I truly do not have time for this, Alice...(Looks at his watch with an annoyed expression) I told you to call me Dr. White, and I thought you said you would take this seriously.
Alice: I am being serious! (She raises her voice angrily)
Dr. White: You must stop confusing real life with dreams. It is not healthy.
Alice: But it was not a dream, Dr. White. You have to believe me! (She exclaimed with a pleading look on her face).
Dr. White: How can I believe you when you say you have been to some other world that has shrinking cookies, singing flowers, and an evil Queen of playing cards, for goodness sake! And that isn’t even the worst of it! (Disbelieving expression)
Alice: (Alice stood up and her voice was loud with frustration. She makes wild hand gestures as she speaks, while circling Dr. White.) It was real! All of it. I saw Wonderland with my own eyes. A worried rabbit, who always seems to be late, led me there and I found treats that change your size, a tea-drinking madman who celebrates UNbirthdays with his pet hare, and twins who tell fables about clams. I met a caterpillar who can smoke the alphabet, a flower chorus, and an extremely stubborn doorknob. I was challenged to a game of croquet by a Queen who would cut off your HEAD if something does not go her way. The Queen has servants made of playing cards who do her will and paint her roses. I even met a cat whose smile was too big for its body and could disappear in the blink of an eye! It may not seem real but it happened. Wonderland is as real as you and me are, even though it doesn’t seem possible.
